Kalusha's Cavies

Charmed littered at 10am on 15 November. It was her first litter and she was over the 1400g mark - so I was slightly worried for her! I was on hand to help as she passed the first one, a black and white boar weighing 90g. She seemed more occupied with him than the next one coming! Still, a cream, white and black boar was next at 98g. She had trouble with the next one, a huge sliver and agouti boar (weighed 126g)who got stuck after his head was out. Luckily I was there to help coax him out! Currently she is licking all three boars simultanously!

Sadly Nazzareno died the morning of 17th Nov. He was rejected by Charmed and then Eliza - who obviously knew there was something wrong. A trip to the vets showed a chronic chest infection and despite our best efforts, he died of heart failure.

Eliza littered on the 14 November to a lovely slate, cream and white Lunkarya sow, weighing in 115g. This was Gambit's first litter also. A larger Lilac and white boar was still-born.

Fancyface littered on the 6th July - which was certainly a suprise, as I thought she had longer to go!! The father was a pure chocolate peruvian boar named Jersey from Holland. She had two healthy peruvian babies. 102g black, cream & white sow and a 101g black & white boar. She is very happy with them.

Amaya littered at 3am on the 16th June 2009. She had four babies - two silver agouti's (a boar and a sow) and two tricolours (both boars). These were Ysphan's last babies, so will be 3/4 pure 'von den Knopfaugen' and 1/4 peruvian. Sadly, the two silver agouti's were rejected and never fully recovered, despite out best feeding efforts.

28th May. Cosmo littered at 10.30pm to a lovely brood of four tricolour peruvians. I was not expecting quite this many - however they are all healthy and cute! Dougal was the father. The babies ranged from 92-103g in weight and she had three boys and a sow! (where is the sow fairy!!??)This is my first peruvian litter without ANY extra rosettes!! finally!

28th May. Eggnog safely delivered her first litter - so I am very proud of her. She is proving to be a very caring mum, which is a relief! Nemo II is the dad. They had two gold & white peruvian boars both weighing 92g and a 95g (rather vocal!) tri colour peruvian sow. The two boars have an extra rosette.

10th May
Zarah littered to a chocolate and white lunky sow, weighing in at 122g. Sadly Zarah failed to open the sac surrounding another baby sow. This was Zarah's last litter so I am thankful to her for leaving me with such a gorgeous sow.    

'Kalusha's Jambolini'  (STAYING)

7th May. Rich-Girl littered to 3 beautiful lunkarya's. Sadly I am utterly gutted as she had 2 still borns. One was a lilac/saffron argente sow about 120g and a tricolour boar about the same weight. My guess was the argente sow was first as she was the coldest and had a clean bottom half. Then the boar must have got stuck.
    The only good news is a lilac and saffron sow did survive. She weighs 110g and is gorgeous! Luckily she is doing well and RG is looking after her like a pro - inbetween mouthfuls of grass!

Holly littered in the late hours on 31st March. She had a tricolour peruvian boar who weighed in at 111g! The father was Dougal.

'Kalusha's Mario'  (RESERVED)

Fallen and Arnold had their first litter on 29th March. Unfortunately one of the babies was not completely formed, suggesting the second copulation had been successful, though not developed enough. She had a 75g DE red and white sow - with the same markings as her mum! Also a PE red and white boar weighing in at 111g. Thankfully they are all doing well now.

On the 11th February, Curly and Drops had their first litter. As it is my first 'Second generation' I am super-proud and she is proving to be a really good mum. She had a tort lunky sow weighing in at 108g, pretty chocolate agouti peruvian boar at 103g and a cream, agouti and white lunky boar weighing at 129g (the heaviest ever born here!). 

'Kalusha's Georgia'

On 24th January, Alabama and Arnold had their first baby together. Alabama had no idea what to do!! So with 'Peter Gurney' help, I helped her deliver the chap. He weighed 115g and is a saffron and white lunkarya boar.

Smudge littered on 25th October to 2 peruvian boars. One is a chocolate agouti and white, the other is red, chocolate agouti and white. Dougal was the father.

Avril littered to her babies on 21st October. She carries Theo's last babies. She had a DE cream peruvian boar, a red peruvian boar and a black&red peruvian sow.

 Felisha littered to a 121g saffron peruvian boar on the 21st September. So glad she had a safe delivery! The father was a stunning lilac and gold alpaca boar named 'Lilac Dragon', who was imported from Germany and now lives with Myra Mahoney.

'Kalusha's Hamlet'

Cookie finally littered on 19th Sep. She reached 1450g just before she littered to 3 large pups. A massive 127g Silver-agouti and white lunkarya sow, a 105g PE white lunky boar and a 94g lilac/gold argente lunky sow. She was our last unexpected pregnancy and I am certain the father is Jonkhy. 

During a break from breeding, Tabitha was discovered to be pregnant!  The father is Blackneck, she was meant to have gone in with Creme but these things do happen! She littered on 15th August (My birthday!) to 3 large healthy pups.
It was her first litter and she was very nutty about it, luckily she soon calmed down as her maternal instinct kicked in. She had a red and white perfect peruvian boar, a tort peruvian boar and a lunkarya tort sow. Each weighed between 116-118g!

Amaya had her litter on 27 March in the morning. She had 3 delightful little lunky's. Arnold is the father. She had a stunning lilac, saffron and white boar and two black, cream and white sows. Amaya really loves them and I am very chuffed they all arrived safely.

Faith gave birth on 19 March. She has a litter of 2 boars. A silver-agouti and white which weighed 117g(!) and a red/white who weighed 99g. Blackneck was the father, so I was expecting agouti's or tort's and had a slight suprise! Both parents had excellent, harsh, curly coats and these two have really dense, curly coats which is perfect for the breed!
