Kalusha's Cavies

Here we only breed Lunkarya to Lunkarya to have the best offspring as close to the standard as possible. Most of our Lunkarya's are derived from Carmen & Iris Langstadtler's 'Von den Knopfaugen' stud. Hours are spent to choose the best matings - harshness, density and curl being the main factors. We are aiming for only homozygous Lunkarya to breed from. We do not breed in quantity and may occasionally have some available. We are only aiming for the best quality, healthy babies with the harshest coats. I expect to have a broad range of colours as the coat itself is the most important characteristic of the Lunkarya.

Lovely golden agouti, gold and white sow. Qai Qai is our most recent addition to the stud - from Hope's first litter and Gambit's second daughter, making her our third generation! Extremely dense coated and very promising.

Patience is a 3 week old black, cream and white sow. Lilac carrier. Hollie has been retired after her recent litter, so Patience will carry on her line.  Her father was our late Caesar, who passed away last December - making her just that little bit more special! Currently undergoing the 'ugly duckling' stage!

Mille is the 4 month old daughter to Eliza and Gambit. She is a chocolate, cream and white Lunkarya sow. Has a very high proportion of 'von den Knopfaugen' lineage and lovely 'checkered' markings. Gorgeous upright 'wealth of coat' which is improving in harshness every week! She won her class at Wessex - so see how she goes at East Cornwall!!

10 month old chocolate and white lunkarya sow. Daughter to Zarah and Yspahan. A lilac carrier. She has pure 'Von den Knopfaugen' lineage. Gorgeous dense coat! Made her show debut at Fareham CC/RVCC with two 3rd places. Currently expecting her first litter with 'Kalusha's Nimbus' (Gambit's son), before he moves onto his new home.

11 month old DE red and white Lunkarya sow. Quite a cutie and her coat is improving. She lost a fair amount of facial hair. Mini clone of her mother, Fallen and has her father's temperment, Arnold (retired). Really nice nature and so proud of her. Just had her first litter with Gambit to 'Qai Qai'.

1 year old red and white Lunkarya sow. Daughter to Genesis and Cooper (retired). Utterly fantastic coat:  dense with excellent curls and harshness. Would have loved to have shown her. Was  expecting her first litter with Jonkhy, but now believe that to be unsuccessful - so now with Gambit.

14 month old chocolate agouti and white sow. A friendly sow with a thick, harsh, high-standing coat. Grand-daughter to 'Fellini' & 'Bella Balloona' from 'Von den Knopfaugen'. Mother to 'Milan deux Mille'.

13 month old red and white Lunkarya sow. Daughter to Cooper (retired). Another stunning thick, dense coat with lovely curls. She is just lovely and so happy to see you in the morning! Recently had her first litter with Phantom.

1 1/2 year old red and white Lunkarya sow. Littermate to Herbie. Lovely thick, dense coat that has increased in harshness as she matured. Just had her litter with our late Caesar, in which she had 'Patience'. Will now be retired from breeding.

1 1/2 year old red and white Lunkarya sow. Daughter to Cooper (retired). Lovely typey girl who has such a gorgeous dense, curly and particularly harsh coat. Mother (and sister!) to 'Nola', who is a mini clone of her! Will have her second litter later in the year.

Nearly 2 year old PE red Lunkarya sow. Lilac Carrier. Daughter to Eglantine and Yspahan (departed). Her coat has matured to become very dense, curly and harsh. Had her first litter with Arnold (retired), in which they had 'Hope'. Now living with William for her second litter.

Nearly 2 year old lilac, gold and white sow. Daughter to Rich-Girl and Yspahan (departed). She is very enquisitive and really enjoys being out in the run. Matured really well, with a compact body with a very dense coat. Mother to 'Gambit'. Was living with Herbie before he moved to his new home, so hopefully expecting her second litter shortly.

2 year old Chocolate and white Lunkarya sow. Another fantastic chunky sow with a dense, fabulously harsh, curly coat! Has a brilliant pedigree of Swedish and German lines. Extremely looking forward to her second litter, with Gambit.

2 year old black and white Lunkarya sow. Densely coated and currently having a reprieve after her latest litter at Tudorvale stud. Will have her last litter with us, in Autumn, and then be retired.

2 year old saffron and white Lunkarya sow. Lilac Carrier. From Swedish lines, which is great as mine are mostly German. Very compact, cobby body. Good thick, harsh coat with fantastic long chops. She is just like a cuddly bear and such a character! Now living with Jonkhy for her second litter.

2 1/2 year old Pink-eyed white Lunkarya sow from Belgium in 2007. Not my favourite colour(!), but she has a good pedigree! She carries argente and lilac. Mother to 'Fallen' and 'Jonkhy'. Grandmother to 'Hope'. Great-Grandmother to 'Qai Qai'. Currently expecting for her last litter (hopefully!).

3 year old chocolate agouti and buff Lunkarya sow imported from Germany back in Autumn 2007. A gorgeous coloured sow with nice rosette placement. Her coat is both harsh and curls nicely. Grandmother to 'Gambit'. Now living with Phantom for her last litter.
