Kalusha's Cavies

Peruvians are one of the oldest cavy breeds and the first long-haired variety. They should have only two rosettes, positioned below the hips. Any extra rosettes are then pet quality. Along with the lunkarya's, they are my favourite breed. Our main colours are cream, tri-colour and lilac. We don't have time to keep them in show coat, but they do well in the cut longhair pet classes. Having decided to concentrate on the Lunkarya's, I will only have the odd peruvian litter.

Nearly 3 month old Black, gold and white peruvian sow. Chocolate and lilac carrier. Daughter to Dougal and Gucci.

Stunning 4 month old Lilac, gold and white peruvian sow. Daughter of Felisha and Dougal. Her name means 'Purple' in Czech.

*Her first show, at 3 1/2 months old, awarded Best Adults Pet at Liskeard Agricultural Show.*

15 month old Chocolate, cream and white Peruvian sow. Imported from Holland. Stunning colours, lovely coat texture and perfect rosettes. Mother to 'Golden Rose'. After one more litter, she will be retired along with Felisha to a lovely home.

Nearly 2 year old Black, cream and white Peruvian sow. Chocolate carrier. She was imported from Holland. Has been living with Troy since february, but not expecting much, as he has yet to get any sow pregnant! Soon to be moved to live with Hershey.....

2 year old tri colour peruvian sow. Bred by Brian & Eileen Emmett. A huge character for such a tiny hairball! Perfect rosette placement and excellent chops! Soon to have her last litter with 'Mars'.

2 year old tri colour peruvian sow. Bred by Brian & Eileen Emmett. Much quieter in temperment than her sister, Eevee. Mother to 'Lukas'. Gorgeous density and texture. Has now returned to Dougal for her second litter.

2 1/2 year old Dark-eyed cream and white peruvian sow. She is really gorgeous and such a lovely temperment. Mother to Fialova. Will have her last litter, with Dougal, at the end of the year.

Boars

10 week old Chocolate & Cream Peruvian Boar. I have been waiting for a choc boar for such a long time!! When he is old enough, he will have a litter with Eevee. 

8 weeks old Chocolate, Gold and white Alpaca boar. He will help my chocolate Peruvian line become established. From Carnival Jayne's Kouros (his father was from the Carismas stud in Denmark ), and Nikki Matthew's 'Sassy Lady', choc tri Alpaca sow. 

Just over 1 year old tricolour peruvian boar. Son to Cosmo and Dougal. Lilac Carrier. Good density. Perfect rosettes!!

3 year old lilac tri-colour peruvian boar. Originally bred by Rajashree Cavies. He had been through numerous homes when we got him at around a year old - I don't know how anyone could part with him!! He has a very cheeky nature and has such deep, gorgeous colours. His coat texture is brilliant and has perfect rosettes. Father to Lukas, Fialova and Golden Rose.

2 3/4 year old lilac tri-colour peruvian boar. He comes from imported Holland lines. Chocolate Carrier. He has yet to make any sows pregnant!! argh!! Been living with Fancyface since February.....nothing yet!

 Think we will get Troy neutered (even though he seems infertile) and he can be rehomed with Fancyface as they get on so well.
