Meet the Peruvians
Peruvians are one of the oldest cavy breeds and the first long-haired variety. They should have only two rosettes, positioned below the hips. Any extra rosettes are then pet quality. Along with the lunkarya's, they are my favourite breed. Our main colours are cream, tri-colour and lilac. We don't have time to keep them in show coat, but they do well in the cut longhair pet classes. Having decided to concentrate on the Lunkarya's, I will only have the odd peruvian litter.
'Kalusha's Julliard Symphony'
9 month old black, cream and white Peruvian sow. Daughter to Fancyface (whom she is a mini clone!) and 'Helmond's Jersey' from Holland. Loves to climb on top of the huts and is maturing really nicely. Currently living with Lukas for her first litter.
'Caafy Guccy'
9 month old Chocolate, cream and white Peruvian sow. Imported from Holland. Stunning colours, lovely coat texture and perfect rosettes. Expecting her first litter with Dougal. Then she will be going to a retirement home with Felisha.
'Fancyface Casa de Cobaya'
1 3/4 year old Dark chocolate, cream and white Peruvian sow. She was imported from Holland. Mother to Julliard. She is stunning! Living with Troy, but not expecting much as he has yet to get any sow pregnant!
'Eevee' ('Eggnog')
1 3/4 year old tri colour peruvian sow. Bred by Brian & Eileen Emmett. A huge character for such a tiny hairball! Perfect rosette placement and excellent chops!
'Cosmo'
1 3/4 old tri colour peruvian sow. Bred by Brian & Eileen Emmett. Much quieter in temperment than her sister, Eevee. Mother to 'Lukas'. Gorgeous density and texture.
'Trazinah's Felisha'
2 year old Dark-eyed cream and white peruvian sow. She was bred by Trazinah's Cavies and is really stunning!! Lovely temperment. Expecting her second litter with Dougal and then will be retired with Gucci.
'Kalusha's Lukas'
9 month old tricolour peruvian boar. Son to Cosmo and Dougal. Lilac Carrier. Good density. Perfect rosettes. Now living with Julliard.
'Rajashree's Dougal'
Nearly 3 year old lilac tri-colour peruvian boar. Originally bred by Rajashree Cavies. Chocolate carrier. He had been through numerous homes when we got him at around a year old - I don't know how anyone could part with him!! He has a very cheeky nature and is such a deep, gorgeous colour. His coat texture is brilliant and has perfect rosettes. Father to 'Luigi' and 'Lukas'. Now expecting litters with Felisha and Gucci - hopefully for chocolate peruvians!
